Students create structures with base ten blocks and have to solve - adding up their base ten blocks representing a number.

Students read task cards, use work mat to solve and write equation.

Students use a balance and objects to represent numbers. Students can use number cards and then count out that many objects to place on the balance. Students then compare the numbers.

Workmats to practice number lines, ten frames, using manipulatives, and drawing out to solve problems (subtraction and addition). Some mats allow students to use two different strategies and compare how both strategies help the student come to the same answer. Laminate or slide into protective sheets and use dry erase markers!
