Document to monitor students while completing a math problem. Identify strategies that can be used to solve the problem, then document which students used that strategy!
*This activity is done with a shower curtain (grid drawn on 20 x 20). *There are 6 signs for 6 groups. *6 animals *Teacher can use accountability sheet to have to record their results.
Students use a balance and objects to represent numbers. Students can use number cards and then count out that many objects to place on the balance. Students then compare the numbers.
Workmats to practice number lines, ten frames, using manipulatives, and drawing out to solve problems (subtraction and addition). Some mats allow students to use two different strategies and compare how both strategies help the student come to the same answer. Laminate or slide into protective sheets and use dry erase markers!
Students move their clip up the chart as they pass lessons on math or reading. Two different background wood versions. If you need a different theme I can do another background!
Each banner students have to use visual model to show representation. They solve and then they are to simply, turn into mixed number, or decide if the number stays the same.
