There never seems to be enough practice pages. Here are some straight forward homework pages I created for Language Arts with subject and predicate practice. One page could even be used for a end of the week quiz.

I use the poem frames to help my students learn about adjectives and verbs. The purpose is to develop their vocabulary. With little ones I have the whole class brainstorm words. With 2nd graders on up, I have them use a thesaurus to find words. Poem example: Ants, ants I like ants. Black ants, Tiny ants, Busy ants, I like ants. Ants build. Ants work. Ants collect. ...etc. This can become a fun cooperative learning, or partner activity.

Talk It Out! helps children resolve their problems as well as helping them to see things from the other person's point of view. I have used this very successfully in my own classroom. I put each stepping stone into a plastic page protector, and hook them together with binder rings. When there is a problem, we unroll the "path" and begin the walk and talk. Here is a chance to practice perimeter, measurement, and develop additional vocabulary. These are fun homework activities for students to do by measuring things in their house with a unit of measure they find at home. Later, they can revisit the activity using inches or centimeters. Since it is tactile, active and a relevant homework activity, even your most reluctant students may choose to do it. For our ESL students, it is also an activity to build their vocabulary for math and specific items

There never seems to be enough practice pages for grammar. This page is designed for students to practice changing from present tense to present progressive. As students fill in the chart, they will need to check for tense and whether the subject is plural or singular. To make it easy for you, or students to correct, an answer key is provided.

This is a practice page for learning about Adverbs. I have also made a list of common adverbs that students can choose to use in their writing to make it more interesting. The list can be glued together to make a long, vertical banner for the children to refer to. I laminated it once, and used it for over 15 years before I needed to replace it. I hope it will be helpful to you too.

Reading comprehension is a challenge to teach, let alone find homework pages for my reluctant readers to do. I began to focus on less common animals in order to engage my students. Also, I wanted quick,doable homework pages for my students to use. The main idea and supporting details is a good place to start. I hope you find them helpful.

This is a fun activity designed to help students learn and understand the concept of perimeter. In addition, students learn that any unit of measure can be used to find the perimeter, providing they agree upon, and use the same unit of measure for all. Use it once with any unit of measure, and another time using their rulers for inches and centimeters. This is a wonderful ELD and vocabulary development activity using math and measurement.

Both, colored and black and white maps are available for students to mark and label. The labels include title, continents and oceans in English and Spanish. Kids can work together to cut, paste and label the map.

I have always preferred to have a Hundred's Chart that started with ZERO. Hard to find! So, like most teachers, I made my own. You can take this page to a place like Kinkos or Staples and have them blow it up to poster size. I have included one that is plain and one that has highlighted numbers. It worked better for some of my intervention students.

The water cycle song is a fun way to help children remember all the big words in this important concept. I like to teach the original folksong at the same time, especially since these songs are new to many of my students.
