About the store
I have been teaching 5th grade in Santa Cruz, Bolivia for over 7 years! Prior to becoming a 5th grade teacher I taught 2nd grade and worked as a substitute teacher. What sets me apart is the years of experiance in various fields before I became a full time teacher. I have my BA in Mass Communications and Media Broadcasting, I have workd in sales, marketing, retail, as an office manager and the director of both children's and youth programs for summer camps and churches. You name it, I've done it, I truly believe that all of those various jobs helped me to become the versitile and creative teacher that I am. In the end I have found my sweet spot and that is teaching 5th grade in the heart of Latin America.

Looking for a great way to encourage and equip your students? I have some great tools all bundled together for you! They are ready to print in two different sizes. The Bright Spot Cards are little cards I keep handy so when I see a student making great choices I can pass them a quick little note letting them know I see them! Often I snap a picture of the note before I give it to the kid and send it to their parent too. Kids often hang them in their locker or save them in their binder as a remind

Teaching style

I am a fifth-grade teacher who believes in creating a structured, respectful learning environment built on high expectations and fairness. I value clear communication and collaboration, and I design instruction that blends hands-on learning with a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learners. I encourage students to embrace their individuality and use their unique strengths to contribute meaningfully in the classroom.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was selected by my school as the Teacher of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year. This same year I was honored with a metal from the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia being recognized as a top educator in the city. These two awards were so meaningful because I learned everything about being a teacher as a taught, this is not what I studied, but it is my passion, and being recognized for doing something you love is the best!

My own education history

I grew up attending public schools in California and Minnesota. I attended George Fox University, where I studied Mass Media Communications and Media Broadcasting. I also was granted my Substitute teaching licence in California. After college I also obtained my TESOL certification.
