This is such a fun game to get students really excited about learning! This game will help students practice their data interpreting and graphing skills. It will also help them use reasoning to explain their results.
Students are a detective in the zoo because OH NO! The animals are misplaced! Students first graph the "original" amount of animals that were in the zoo. Then, students graph the "actual" amount of animals that are in the zoo. Finally, students (or rather the detectives) answer que
Comparing and contrasting and a skill that can be pretty tough for our little ones! This venn-diagram is a great way for students to visually see the difference in the two stories. Students could work in pairs, small groups, or as a whole group to complete the diagram. If you need to differentiate the graphic organizer, fill in the circles with lines, use pictures, or challenge students to come up with a certain amount of similiarites and differences!
12.NBT.6 add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations -base ten blocks -expanded form -explain why addition strategies and properties work I have created three different equations based on ability levels. The easiest has no regrouping, the middle has regrouping to the tens place, and the highest has regrouping to the hundred's place. You could have students cut i
Want to spice up your differentiation? This Math Review Choice Board is a great way to do it! There are so many options on how you could use it. Have children pick 3, 6, or even all 9 problems, to complete. All you have to do is print out the worksheets and then BOOM you are ready to go! Nothing to it, but to do it. My students loved being able to see how many they could get done and they loved it even more because they got to pick what they wanted to do!!

A simple but AWESOME game! You could play this matching game in so many different ways. For example, students could just use the cards that they need to work on being able to identify. Or, students may choose to only use 25 at a time. Get creative! Don't have time for a matching game? Use these for flash cards! Quick & easy!! Enjoy :)
I think it's so important for our students to realize what they're grateful for, especially when it comes to their friends! One of my favorite things to do is write down each student's name on a paper and hand them out randomly to each student (they can't get their own name). Then, that student thinks of something nice to write about that person. I explain that it shouldn't be things like "I like his shirt," that it needs to be a quality about that person. The students have a few minutes to writ
This is a great review for many first grade math standards! Have students complete independently, in small groups, or even for morning work or homework. You may choose to have them complete it daily or make it an added challenge to see how many tasks they can complete.

It's almost that time where we're going to get a new group of babies and we will be teaching them the classroom rules. This RESPECT poster is great to be used as a visual reminder for your students! Start by reviewing the sign and what each letter represents. Then, have them practice!

During your Daily 5 small groups, you don't have time to stop your small group and check everything your other students are doing! This checklist keeps your students independent and accountable for their work. Put it in a folder or tape it to their desk, so they don't lose it! I recommend laminating it or putting it in a page protector, so that students could use expo markers (and you cant save trees!). Easy way for you to do a quick walk through and check.

Have your students take this reading log home to record what they've read! Then, you can place a sticker to acknowledge that you've checked their folder.
