Students use dice to roll the number of rows and columns to create arrays.
I recommend laminating or using sheet sleeves so students can use dry erase markers to create the arrays.
Students use arrays to create a zoo. Each animal in their zoo will be placed in a cage using an array. Example- the giraffe is in a cage that is 4 by 4 (4+4+4+4). This activity also incorporated man skills. The checklist has students include a map key for their zoo and come up with a creative name using alliteration. The activity provides students with instructions and a checklist.
