Teaching Good Science

This editable project is aligned to the NGSS and NJSLS-Science for Grade 5, but could certainly be adapted to suit other grade levels. Students will show how atoms are arranged in solids, liquids, and gases. This is a key tool in assessing student knowledge of biomes/ecosystems. In this activity, students will select a biome, develop an image showing the biome's characteristics (biotic and abiotic factors), and explain their work with three brief constructed responses. This is a Google Drive- Slides activity, so it is easy to assign to your class and go! Checklists are available throughout as well as potential point values for different parts if you decide to use this as a graded assignment.

Keep students engaged at the end of the school year by having them create a Math board game! Guidelines for the project, a list of Grade 5 Math concepts, and ideas for planning are included.
