Most of my experience has been in special education--Special Day Class and Resource Specialist Programs K-8. Then I made a major change and enjoyed teaching 1st and 2nd grade for several years.
I've had wonderful opportunities to work with new teachers as a mentor teacher, as a visiting educator for the county office of education, and as a consultant for CORE, Consortium on Reading Excellence.

Teaching style
Good instruction means my weakest students are progressing without being overwhelmed ... and my most advanced students are continually being challenged! My style requires creative materials that motivate all of my students to work systematically toward mastery of critical skills ... with flexible scaffolding ... at their own level, and at their own pace.
