20 years later and I still love teaching and building a joyful learning community. :) I was in 2nd grade for 13 years and I loved it. I looped with my class to 3rd, and I'm happy here too!
Engage students with this independent dice game. They roll a dice 3 times for 3 digits and write the smallest and largest number they can make with the 3 digits. Then they subtract. A great center activity or independent practice without the boring monotony of premade worksheets.
This also includes a 4 digit version.
Happy rolling!
This is a 2-4 player game. Students advance through the game by practicing the concept of writing & solving addition problems (without regrouping.) This is a great way to reinforce this concept. There are game cards for 2 digit or 3 digit play--spice things up and add both sets of cards!
Includes game cards, lesson plans, game board, and blank addition problem recording sheet.
If you enjoy the game, please leave feedback. Thank you and have fun! :)
In this hands on activity, students work in pairs or groups to count and sort frogs into a certain number of ponds, and determine if they divide equally. They they then write the division equation with remainders--if there is one. They record their information on the chart. I call this a "game" to my students and they have so much fun with it they don't even realize it's not about winning! :)
This game/activity is appropriate for students learning about division and equal groups. I used this as
