Growth Mindset is a key concept taught in order for our students to overcome challenges and face new tasks. This resource can help your students review fixed mindset versus growth mindset phrases. This lemon slice allows them to write out their growth mindset ideas and learning.

Each year for Valentine's Day, my students revisit the importance of how kind words make a difference. After revisiting the importance of kind words, we use these compli-mats to compliment our classmates with sincere and specific kind words.

Use this activity to get to know your students through their writing, drawing, and creativity. This would be a great activity to put on your students' desks during the first few weeks of school. In fact, this is what I have planned for my class! First through fifth grade is included.

This activity is simple and fun. It may be a bit messy too! Your students will first be put into groups and then be given the listed materials. Be sure to have something to contain the toothpaste mess. Your students will be asked to squeeze as much toothpaste as possible into the tray. Then the second challenge is getting the toothpaste back in. Discuss and pass out this half-sheet print out to discuss that words matter and what we say can't be taken back.

Use this spelling page to have your students practice their spelling words for the week. My students love using smelly markers and it definitely helps them focus on the spelling patterns we are working on.
