My students get so excited when I say that they get to assign their parent/guardian homework. This is so important to me because it allows me to give their adult a voice right away and be included at the start of their year. I learn so much about my students from the responses I get from their adult(s). It allows me to understand better where my student is coming from and make that connection immediately.
