Following each chapter, students test their comprehension of the content of The Great Gatsby by completing this exit slip/reading check. This Google Form is self-grading, and it can be used as a quiz, reading check, exit slip, and discussion starter.

This is a comprehension check for Parts Two and Three of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I use these as a homework check, but sometimes I assign these after we've discussed the section.

Students immerse themselves in the culture of Babylon by becoming a tour guide. Either individually or with a partner, students create a guided tour which includes a written script, citations, a bit of humor, and a presentation. For this project, students explore artifacts from Ancient Egypt and describe what archaeologists learn from their discovery. While this assignment is originally intended to be used with Ancient Egypt, it can be easily adapted to any culture. Mini-lesson includes design of presentations, presentations skills, citation, and drawing conclusions. It's good for in-class or at-home learning.

This is a basic comprehension check of the Prologue from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

This product includes all of my notes for Chapter 4 in: Discovering Our Past: A History of the World, Early Ages © 2018. I've used these as fill in the blanks, a template for students, and for differentiated instruction.

McGraw Hill Textbook: Discovering Our Past: A History of the World (Early Ages) 2018 This test covers Chapters 1-2 which I've called "Unit 1." We put a specific emphasis on primary and secondary sources. Question types include multiple choice, fill in the blank, essay, and short answer. Questions have answers on auto-grade.

This anticipation guide will prepare students to question the motivation of characters throughout their study of The Great Gatsby through introspection.
