I've been a special education teacher, an ELA teacher, and a social studies teacher in my early career so far. I've loved every second and want to continue to see where it gets me! Go middle school!!!
This is a four-week middle grades social studies curriculum. Week 1: Geography & Map Skills, Week 2: Ancient Civilizations – Mesopotamia & Egypt, Week 3: Government & Citizenship, and Week 4: Culture & Global Connections. It includes slide shows and a work packet that goes along with each slide show. It is all written in Century Gothic font (which is helpful for specific reading disabilities). It is also editable, so feel free to change what you would like. Each week has four days of curriculum
The first few days (honestly, even sometimes weeks) of the school year are all about building community and understanding expectations. Sometimes, it can be difficult to think outside of the curriculum and create ways to help students get settled in. This is a 6-day group of lessons that do that: build community, get to know each other, and set expectations for the beginning of the school year and the whole year. All of it is editable (or at least should be, let me know if it is not)!
Included is a mini introduction unit, a review lesson on complete sentences, classroom expectation ideas, and ideas on how to implement restorative circles!
This is a multi-day, middle-grade end-of-school project. It could be for fun or a summative assessment. The lesson plan with objectives, an exemplar, a rubric, and a planning sheet are included. Check out my “evaluating websites for credibility”, “paraphrasing vs. plagiarism”, and “citing images and sources properly” lessons for additional resources! This lesson can be as short or as long as you would like. It is very adaptable. The lesson entails students picking a topic they are passionate abo

I have 8 parts and 8 different week-long packets for deep diving into "Marcus Vega Doesn't Speak Spanish" by Pablo Cartaya. This is part 2! The whole bundle has the weekly rundown and standards that match. It's a great read and ties into identity and culture. Hope this helps!!!
This product combines my "Passion Project" and research lesson products. It can really help when beginning to teach research and for middle learners. The files are all in Google Drive, so they are completely editable. Hopefully, it works for you as well as it has for me!

Teaching style
I really love a structured classroom. I thrive on routines and consistency as do my students! That doesn't mean we can't have fun though!!!
My own education history
I loved school as a student. I was a peer tutor for 10 years and loved every minute of school. I loved the constant expectations and learning opportunities, so I continued it for a career!!!
