About the store
Hello! I'm an Australian high school teacher with a specialisation in inclusive education and a background in social work. My previous work in the youth justice system opened my eyes to the recurring issue of educational disengagement and the systemic lack of support for our most vulnerable students. This experience inspired me to pursue postgraduate studies in education, initially with the goal of becoming a guidance counsellor. However, once I stepped into the classroom, I discovered a deep passion for teaching. I value the unique opportunity teachers have to support both academic growth and the social-emotional development of students. Now, I focus on creating engaging, accessible resources that make learning meaningful and inclusive for all learners.

Experience

Teaching style

I'm an Australian high school teacher with a strong focus on inclusive education and evidence-based pedagogy. My teaching philosophy is grounded in a holistic, student-first approach—placing student wellbeing and individual needs at the centre of all learning. I believe that meaningful learning cannot take place until students feel safe, supported, and connected. In my classroom, building trust and strong relationships is a priority, even if that means pausing the curriculum to meet a student where they’re at. I incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure access and engagement for all learners, alongside high-impact teaching strategies such as explicit instruction. The resources I create reflect this commitment to equity, engagement, and purposeful learning for diverse classrooms.

My own education history

My own journey through school wasn’t easy—I experienced childhood trauma and had undiagnosed ADD, which made learning challenging and left me feeling disconnected from education for many years. These experiences now shape everything I do in the classroom. I understand firsthand how important it is for students to feel seen, safe, and supported. I completed my primary and secondary education in the Australian Catholic school system before going on to earn a double Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Human Services from La Trobe University. I later completed a Graduate Diploma of Education in Inclusive Education and Visual Art at Griffith University.
