Afrikaner by birth and Texan by choice, I have been on an extraordinary journey. Growing up in the beautiful country of South Africa was quite an adventure, but nothing could prepare me for the ride to come at the side of my husband, Marius.
We met at veterinary school in Pretoria and set out to seek new adventure abroad soon after graduation. Landing in Cajun country, both my husband and I continued our studies at LSU. Years later, the growing Meintjes family settled outside of Dallas where I practiced veterinary medicine, home educated my three sons, taught sciences, and spearheaded several community projects. Naturally, we also had to keep some South African sheep around to teach the boys about life and responsibility.
The intersection of science and biblical truths has long held my interest. Today, this fascination with the created world continues to inspire me to write, teach, and explore the field of life sciences. More about this at www.technonature.com.
