Squanto/Thanksgiving Comprehension/Vocabulary Unit
This is a unit that supports the book - Young Squanto - The First Thanksgiving by Andrew Woods. It is a Scholastic First-Start Biography. You could certainly use the material with another primary level book about Squanto as well. I have included vocabulary flashcards, cloze activities and a test. A comprehension test and sequencing activity are in the packet as well. You will also find all answer keys for the activities. I noticed that on the preview - it appears that there are page break

Experience
I have been teaching primary students for the past 20 years. I have been teaching second grade since 1997. Prior to that time - I was teaching first grade.
Teaching style
I love integrating trade books into my curriculum and prefer utilizing curriculum units that can touch across many areas of the curriculum. I want the children in my classroom to be engaged and to be excited about literature. Hands-on activities are often the focus of math and science in our classroom.
My own education history
I gained my undergrad degree in elementary education from Grove City College in 1990. My masters is in the area of elementary education as well.

I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my husband, Jim, my 16 year old daughter, Mary and my best four-legged friend, Sandman.
