Welcome to my shop! I have a bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas (UNT) and recently finished my master's degree from the University of South Florida (USF) in educational leadership. I have a lot of curriculum resources, since I've been getting more experience writing curriculum. I hope you find these resources useful!
Here you will find the major differences between the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Florida ELA standards. This helps when switching grade levels, engaging in PLC, or planning standards-based lessons. I've also included the complexity level for each standard. I highlighted the major differences in each standard for 4th grade so you can see how each standard changes from 3rd grade.
This document helps students track their progress on math and science assessments. It is editable so you can add reading if you wish. It comes with a cover sheet and a goal setting sheet for students to help monitor their own progress.
This is a reading recording sheet/log for students and/or classes to use to track the number of minutes read in a day, week, or however long is up to you. The document is editable.
Here is a small chart for students to use to learn the differences between complete and incomplete metamorphosis. There are 4 on one page for printing them small, but you can edit the document to include as many as you need or can delete the other three to just have one on the page. I have students glue these in their science journals.
This is a poster template that can be edited to fit your incentive description. It was designed in Powerpoint and can be printed poster size. This is meant to get students excited for upcoming assessments/goals.
This is a flowchart students can use to ask themselves questions when determining if a plant is a flowering or non-flowering plant. This helps direct their thinking when coming to a conclusion about both types of plants. The document is editable.
This is a spreadsheet of multiple-choice questions for each chapter of the book, Matilda. They are aligned to the FL BEST standards for reading. The document is editable and the correct answers are in green font.
This PowerPoint will allow your students to practice identifying different text features. The arrows first point to the text feature, you can ask what the text feature is, discuss how readers would use such a text feature, and then click the screen and the name of the text feature will appear. There are 12 slides, with multiple text features embedded on each slide. This presentation is completely editable for your use.
These posters are meant to reiterate (or help teach) science lab expectations. The expectations are: *STAY SAFE: use all materials appropriately*FOLLOW DIRECTIONS: Listen carefully and follow all lab procedures!*WORK TOGETHER: Cooperate with your group and teacher! Disagree politely!*CLEAN UP: Make sure all areas are clean before leaving the lab!
This is a recording sheet with climate zone questions relating to latitude, precipitation, temperature, and other factors. Students can use this sheet to answer the questions, as they find answers on a website. These questions are aligned to the FSASS ( Florida's State Academic Standards for Science). Specifically, the standard: SC.5E.7.6.This is a Word document, so it is editable.
As a Science Instructional Staff Developer in Florida, one thing I discovered is the terminology needs to be more clear (for teachers AND students), when it comes to adaptations/survival mechanisms among organisms. I created this flowchart to clarify the vocabulary and to help students determine if a characteristic is a physical/structural/inherited adaptation (they need to know those terms interchangeably) or if it is a learned behavioral adaptation vs. an instinct/innate behavioral adaptation
This is a data tracking sheet 3rd grade students/teachers can use for iStation. Students can track their overall ability index (their score) on this sheet so they can keep track of their progress each month during the school year. Students scoring in the red zone are considered deficient, students scoring in the yellow zone are considered to be approaching proficiency and students scoring in the green zone are considered proficient readers, according to the expectations of Pinellas County school
This is a data tracking sheet 4th grade students/teachers can use for iStation.
This is a data tracking sheet 3rd grade students/teachers can use for iStation. Students can track their overall ability index (their score) on this sheet so they can keep track of their progress each month during the school year, or teachers can average the overall scores of his/her students and mark the average for the class each month. I printed this poster-size and used it as a class chart to track our class averages each month. As a class, we would talk about our monthly score and place a s
This is a presentation to help students identify control groups, dependent variables, and independent variables. The answers are in the notes for each slide. There are 6 slides and slides 2-6 each describe a scenario of an investigation and asks students to identify the control group, dependent variable, and independent variable for each investigation. This supports science standard SC.5.N.1.4.
This is a condensation experiment for students, but I call it an "exploriment" because the students are mostly exploring and this can be used to kick-off your physical science unit on changing states of matter. This comes with the learning target poster (1 page), complete directions for the experiment, a graphic organizer for groups to use during the exploration, and questions for group discussions. This science investigation really fosters teamwork among student groups and independence at the s
This is a PowerPoint presentation you can use to thoroughly explain the Florida Standards Assessment (reading and math) to parents and/or newly hired teachers. This PowerPoint covers everything from the third grade retention law, the number and type of questions on the test(s), how the FSA is scored, what score is considered "proficient" and/or "passing", etc. The presentation takes about 30-40 minutes to present and is geared toward 3rd grade, however, most of the general information is applica
This is a comprehensive quick review of the NGSSS for the 5th grade Statewide Science Assessment. It is meant to be a daily review, approximately 30-40 minutes, depending if you want to pause to discuss the slides with students or just have a quick content review. It is a total of 26 EDITABLE slides, on a PowerPoint format. The content covers Earth & Space Science, Physical Science, and Life Science standards.
