Here you will find the major differences between the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Florida ELA standards. This helps when switching grade levels, engaging in PLC, or planning standards-based lessons. I've also included the complexity level for each standard. I highlighted the major differences in each standard for 4th grade so you can see how each standard changes from 3rd grade.

This is a set of schedule cards that are farmhouse eucalyptus themed. If you need more of the cards you can copy and paste the slide and then edit. All of the cards slides are editable! This PowerPoint will allow your students to practice identifying different text features. The arrows first point to the text feature, you can ask what the text feature is, discuss how readers would use such a text feature, and then click the screen and the name of the text feature will appear. There are 12 slides, with multiple text features embedded on each slide. This presentation is completely editable for your use.

As a Science Instructional Staff Developer in Florida, one thing I discovered is the terminology needs to be more clear (for teachers AND students), when it comes to adaptations/survival mechanisms among organisms. I created this flowchart to clarify the vocabulary and to help students determine if a characteristic is a physical/structural/inherited adaptation (they need to know those terms interchangeably) or if it is a learned behavioral adaptation vs. an instinct/innate behavioral adaptation

This is a data tracking sheet 3rd grade students/teachers can use for iStation. Students can track their overall ability index (their score) on this sheet so they can keep track of their progress each month during the school year. Students scoring in the red zone are considered deficient, students scoring in the yellow zone are considered to be approaching proficiency and students scoring in the green zone are considered proficient readers, according to the expectations of Pinellas County school
