This is a very easy to understand drawing assignment. First students create a collage. Next they pick at least three items from the collage. Using the three items students set up three thumbnail compositions. Students pick the strongest composition & draw using value.

This is a 4 to 5 weeks painting unit. First the students rule & paint 3 value scales. Next they make a cool value name design out of the scales. Finally they paint a composition of their choice using a monochromatic color scheme. I love all three projects.

This is an amazing poster introducing 50 artists with 2 examples of their work. There is a quote from each artist and their time period. You can print it in any size & it will look awesome in your classroom.

This is a bundle of tests. There are three tests including answer keys. There are two based on color which are two pages each. Also there is one based on color, elements & principles which is three pages.

Students can all work together designing their portion of the hive. You can choose a theme or give them freedom. Everybody will cut out their own section. You can put them all together to make a hive. Print out one of the signs and you have an awesome bulletin board that everybody worked on.

I picked 50 artists. (There are so many it was hard to choose.) There are 50 artist cards & 50 art work cards. This is a perfect way to learn artists & some of their works. Students can play match games individually or in groups. Keep watching for meet 50 artists. There will be more to come.

This handout can be used for any work of art. The American Gothic is a perfect painting to begin with. Students will learn the six facts in a credit line and also look at art and try to understand it by using the four steps of art criticism.
