About the store

Experience

I taught kindergarten and first grade for 11 years. Then became a kindergarten through 6th grade gifted teacher. Currently, I am serving my county as the Gifted Program Specialist, supervising and coordinating gifted services for more than 2,500 students!

Teaching style

Collaborative and student-led. I love creating engaging centers, games, and activities using the Common Core and Florida Standards. I believe in engaging all modalities to really cement a child's understanding! I'm very inspired by the Growth Mindset.

My own education history

I graduated with a degree in Journalism from Indiana University. When I moved back to Florida I kind of fell into teaching through the back door and it's a perfect fit. Who knew?? I took Master's classes to complete my teaching certificate and have completed my National Board TakeOne portfolio.
