The Engineer

Even though I am a high school math teacher, I have several different versions of this game. This is one I use at the very beginning of a course as a quick activity or when I need to fill a few minutes with something light and fun. This would be an ideal activity for practicing basic math facts in elementary up into middle school. To play, each student gets a card or two depending on the size of the class. Clock Buddies worksheets help teachers get students into groups of two quickly for cooperative learning activities. Students make appointments with other students in the class. This form is used in my class to summarize what happened in class for the day. It is meant as a way for students who are absent (or just want a reminder) to see at a glance what they missed. I give one of the students in the class the job of filling out the form each day. It helps to alleviate the "What did I miss yesterday?" questions that we as teachers hear all too often. This form is a real time-saver for me.
