This is a "fun fact" worksheet that can serve as practice for your students using the factoring technique known as Greatest Common Factor. This "fun fact" worksheet is in the same mold as the common riddle worksheets you have most likely seen. However, this worksheet reveals a fun and interesting fun fact at the end. My students love these because they can check their own work. They also like them better than the common riddle worksheets because they are just a little different. They love try

Even though I am a high school math teacher, I have several different versions of this game. This is one I use at the very beginning of a course as a quick activity or when I need to fill a few minutes with something light and fun. This would be an ideal activity for practicing basic math facts in elementary up into middle school. To play, each student gets a card or two depending on the size of the class. The student with #1 reads his card and the student who has the answer to the question

Clock Buddies worksheets help teachers get students into groups of two quickly for cooperative learning activities. Students make appointments with other students in the class. When you want to put students into groups, just say, "Find your 5 o'clock buddy." The students then quickly look at their sheet and find their partner. No more having to take the time to set up groups or have students wander the room looking for a partner. Also included in the packet are alternatives to the classic c

This is an activity the gets students using their hands to manipulate factoring squares to complete a puzzle. They cut out each square and line up the polynomial to its factored form. Some polynomials have answers and some do not (they go around the outside of the puzzle). The methods of factoring included are GCF, Difference of Two Squares, and Trial & Error. This activity is a great review activity for factoring. I have another factoring sqaure activity available and even though Difference an

Add It Up - Math or Science Review Activity

This activity helps students to determine if their answers are correct without asking the teacher. Students can use this sheet to check their own work. The "Add It Up" sheet can be used for any math or science topic that has numeric answers. Students do up to 16 questions prepared by the teacher and fill in the appropriate boxes on the sheet. Once they are done, the students add up their answers and if the sum is the same as the sum given by the teacher before or after the activity, then the

Class Daily Wrap-Up Sheet / Make-Up Work Calendar Sheet

This form is used in my class to summarize what happened in class for the day. It is meant as a way for students who are absent (or just want a reminder) to see at a glance what they missed. I give one of the students in the class the job of filling out the form each day. It helps to alleviate the "What did I miss yesterday?" questions that we as teachers hear all too often. This form is a real time-saver for me.
