I have taught high school math since 2004. I have taught Geometry, Trignometry, Statistics, AP Statistics, and Algebra II. Prior to teaching, I was a Mechanical Engineer for 7 years.
To play this game in our class, I put two chairs facing the class so that the "contestants" can't see the word on the screen. Next, I ask the students in the "audience" for one word clues. Whoever gives the clue that helps a contestant guess the word gets to take the losing contestant's place in the front. The kids LOVE this game and ask to play all of the time. It's simple, but different.
This is a "fun fact" worksheet that can serve as practice for your students using the factoring technique known as Greatest Common Factor.
This "fun fact" worksheet is in the same mold as the common riddle worksheets you have most likely seen. However, this worksheet reveals a fun and interesting fun fact at the end.
My students love these because they can check their own work. They also like them better than the common riddle worksheets because they are just a little different. They love try
Clock Buddies worksheets help teachers get students into groups of two quickly for cooperative learning activities. Students make appointments with other students in the class. When you want to put students into groups, just say, "Find your 5 o'clock buddy." The students then quickly look at their sheet and find their partner. No more having to take the time to set up groups or have students wander the room looking for a partner.
Also included in the packet are alternatives to the classic c
This activity helps students to determine if their answers are correct without asking the teacher. Students can use this sheet to check their own work.
The "Add It Up" sheet can be used for any math or science topic that has numeric answers. Students do up to 16 questions prepared by the teacher and fill in the appropriate boxes on the sheet. Once they are done, the students add up their answers and if the sum is the same as the sum given by the teacher before or after the activity, then the
This Word document is the sheet that my students use as to complete review problems as they enter my classroom. They pick one up at the beginning of the week and turn it in at the end of the week so I can assess their progress.
This document is included in a packet of over 350 Algebra 2 Bell Ringer problems. To purchase that packet, check out "Algebra 2 Bell Ringer - Complete Course (over 350 problems)" in my store - http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Algebra-2-Bell-Ringer-Packet-Comp
This form is used in my class to summarize what happened in class for the day. It is meant as a way for students who are absent (or just want a reminder) to see at a glance what they missed. I give one of the students in the class the job of filling out the form each day. It helps to alleviate the "What did I miss yesterday?" questions that we as teachers hear all too often. This form is a real time-saver for me.
