About the store
Beginning my career in teaching music, I quickly shifted to specialize in Special Education. I've worked in Maryland in nonpublic schools as a teacher and curriculum specialist and in Texas public schools as a high school Special Education teacher. Although I loved working, after having kids and moving overseas I decided to stay home. Now we're back in Maryland where I homeschool (pre-k to grade 5). I'm also the administrator of a growing homeschool co-op where I teach a variety of classes to ages pre-k through high school.

Sensory Break Walk Like an Animal

This visual cue can be used at home or in the classroom to give your silly little ones a calming sensory break. Simply designate a hallway or long path in the room to go back and forth as a different animal each time. The last three (frog, bear, crab) are particularly good for heavy work. This is a great activity for kids with sensory needs, or to use as a brain break.

Additional biographical information

Our first years homeschooling included a lot of free play and story time. As my kids get older, we are doing more structured activities following curricula.
