Build a Zoo is an interdisciplinary board game that encourages students to use technology, knowledge of math, science, and social studies to create their perfect zoo. This activity allows students to practice measuring angles using the real world example of gymnasts in different gymnastics poses. Angle cards can be printed and laminated or mounted on tagboard. (Make sure to number the cards on the back so you can identify them later!) Students can then measure the read angles with a protractor. This activity can be used as an around the room activity, a center activity, or a whole group activity.

This is an addition and subtraction practice game based on the classic game Rock Paper Scissors. Students pull a card and solve the addition or subtraction problem, and then play "Leaf, Tree, Giraffe, Math!". The winner gets to keep both cards and then a new round is played.

This is a Kangaroo themed hundreds chart with a moveable baby kangaroo. Students can use the baby kangaroo to practice "hopping" back and forth across the number chart. This reinforces the concept of counting hops when moving along the number line. The baby kangaroo has a 1 inch square cut out so that students can see the number they are on as they move along the hundreds chart.

This is a math mystery project where students need to solve the math problems provided and use the clues to figure out which suspect stole the class set of Ipads. All problems in this episode are multiplying facts 0 - 12. The packet also includes brag tags for completing the challenge. These should be printed separate from the work packet.

This hundreds chart is differentiated to help students who are struggling with going from one row to the next. The chart is expanded into a tree with branches leading from one row to the next (i.e 20 to 21). Students can use the frog to "hop" from one number to the next, and then follow the branches to go down a row for adding, or up a row for subtracting. Once students seem to grasp that concept, they can move to the standard hundreds chart with the same color patterns as the expanded one.
This is a differentiated hundreds chart that can be used for counting money. The chart is color coded by coin for easy visual reference. There is a reference page so students know which color is which coin. The packet also comes with coins that can be cut out and manipulated on the hundreds chart, as well as an example page to demonstrate how to use the hundreds chart.
Episode 4: The Case of the Deflated Basketballs
