This is a visual quiz I developed for my Life Skills students about "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day." Students have to make a judgment about Alexander and to answer basic comprehension questions. Next, students are asked to reflect and think about a bad day they have had. Students are directed to make visual representations about details of their bad day.

I am a second year teacher in a regional life skills program. My heart is in special education - there is something so real and genuine about the vibrant students in special education.

I strive to ensure my students are enjoying their educational experiences, while also being challenged and compelled to explore and learn more.

Awards & shining teacher moments

At the end of my first year of teaching, I was deemed a "highly effective teacher" by the state of Maryland, due to the combination of evaluation results, student standardized test scores, and SLO success.

My own education history

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Human Studies with a minor in Spanish from St. Mary's College of Maryland. My alma mater also served as the location for my MAT studies. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching the year after earning my undergraduate degree. I am highly qualified to teach grades K-6, and I have my special education endorsement.

Additional biographical information

My students are my life! In my downtime I enjoy traveling and being outdoors. I love my friends, family, and my yellow lab, Cooper.
