Brian and Melanie Fulton met at Virginia Tech, where they each earned doctoral degrees in mathematics. They have taught mathematics at the university level, and they have written and edited mathematics curricula for a variety of levels, from middle school through postgraduate. They live on a small farm in Missouri, where they raise dairy goats, chickens, ducks, cats, miniature donkeys, and any fruit and nut trees they can keep the goats from decimating. They homeschool and are soon expecting their fourth student.

This 59 page book is organized into three pieces: Puzzles, Tutorials, and Answers. We suggest that you print off the puzzle (pages 6-35). If your student has been exposed to logic grid puzzles before, then they might be able to jump right into the puzzles, though the tutorials are still highly recommended. But if you’re dealing with a first-time puzzle solver, we think the tutorials are essential. As the teacher, make sure your student thoroughly understands the information in the tutorials.

With Level 5, we start ratcheting up the difficulty. The size of the puzzles is the same as in Level 4, but the logical connections that need to be made are a little more intricate. Some of the clues also contain a more complex structure. Many of the puzzles use a variation of “if … then” statements, prevalent in computer programming and mathematical logic. When you purchase Level 5, you will receive a .PDF file and the right to make as many copies as you wish within your immediate fam

In our Crack The Safe books, pure reasoning is the name of the game. The format is such that the clues are easy to digest and, in a sense, obvious. There's no need to translate verbal statements into logical facts, as is the case in our Grids For Kids books. Instead, all of the solver's effort is focused on the reasoning process. So put on your Sherlock Holmes hat and remember: this time, you're not nabbing the safe cracker, you ARE the safe cracker! This book consists of 31 puzzles, as well as

What's new in Level 4? In Level 2, the concept of “ordering” was introduced as a means of adding complexity to the clues and puzzles. In Level 3, however, this “ordering” concept was avoided since the purpose was to acclimate the learner to the larger size of the Level 3 puzzles. Now, in Level 4, we bring back the “ordering” concept, but we do so in the context of the larger puzzle size introduced in Level 3. Product Description Each book in the series is organized into three pieces: Pu

How Many Socks? A Puzzle Book for the Young and Old

These 64 puzzlers are designed for the deep-thinking "child" (age 8-99), who isn't satisfied with endless lists of long-division problems.  The questions are simple to understand, yet require a child to think critically.  All problems are based on the idea of grabbing socks from a drawer.  The difficulty level is progressive, beginning with two colors of socks, and escalating to unknown numbers of colors, and unknown numbers of sock for each color.  We believe in the weightlifting principle: sta
