This is all the documents I created to teach the (slightly disjointed) 7th Grade Geometry Chapter. I created this chapter to make this chapter engaging and fun. I have listed these documents separately if you only need a few sections, instead of the complete chapter, including the final project.

This handout is a great way to introduce 24 geometry vocabulary to start off the chapter. Some words serve as review, but other words were brand new to my students. Drawing an example of the word and thinking of real world examples of the word, assisted memory and recognition of the terms. We did this as a class activity, but it could be easily used as a station activity. I will be posting other materials for this chapter separately.

This is the outline I used for the Geometry Chapter for my 7th graders. I created this chapter outline for students to keep their work organized in their binders. I will be posting the handouts and projects I created separately.

This transformation activity is a creative way to assess student understanding of translations, reflections, and rotations. You can choose to provide students with a coordinate plane or give them graph paper to make their own.

Even in Middle School we enjoyed celebrating the 100th Day of School. To celebrate I made this fun math sheet with 6 activities for students. Can be used with many age groups. This would be great as a homework sheet, bell ringer, or centers/station activity. Typically, I would provide a prize or homework pass to students who completed the worksheet.

Division Practice! In middle school, I find that students often lack confidence in their division skills. A fun way to improve confidence and refresh those skills is with this practice mat and manipulatives. Great for stations, review, and introducing division.

An advisory or homeroom clipboard is one of my favorite classroom tools. I print this page out, updated with my student roster, then put it in a page protector sleeve and clip it to my clipboard. I use the clipboard for morning attendance and afternoon dismissal. The students loved having this as a classroom job. It is great tool for when you have to give your students to another staff member, like a substitute, guidance counselor, administrator, or specials teacher, because that adult can see

To start the year off right, I liked giving my students a survey about themselves. I used this as a part of my first day of school activities. I always collected them and reviewed them to help me understand a little more about my students. I used this with homeroom or advisory students. This could be used with other grades.

My favorite way to evaluate students is through projects and arts integration. The best way to evaluate these projects were with this Rubric. It took me a few tries to develop a point system that mirrored our grading system, weighted parts of the project appropriately, and was easy for students and parents to read. The Rubric is geared for math projects, but can be adapted to any subject. I hope you find this Rubric as helpful as I did.

This is a 10 week outline for a Card Game Elective class. I used this outline with grades 3-5. It could be used with any elementary grades and middle grades. This class was great for practicing fair play, sportsmanship, taking turns, compromises, and creativity.  The games could be swapped out for easier or more familiar games depending on your audience & supplies, you know your kids! I used this outline with 3rd - 5th graders. Most of the materials I had personally, were already in my room, or found thrifting or in a swap shop. This course could be used with any grades from k-8 with a little adaptation. I had a mixed group of students that didn’t know each other, so I liked to warm ups and getting to know you activities.

Are you tired of being stumped by deciding how to start class quietly & productively? I was! I made myself this framework to take the decision making out of deciding how to start class. Each day of the week has a theme. Themes can be swapped or edited depending on your content and grade level. I used this while teaching grades 6-8.

This form is perfect for teaching students to advocate for their needs. I like to print this onto colorful paper, cut them into fourths, and keep them in a page protector hanging in my classroom. Students just grab one of the slips and list their name, grade, the project or assignment they need an extension on, and the reason they need the extension. I always accept extension forms.
