I hold a B.A. in both Psychology and Philosophy (UMKC), an M.A. in Philosophy (USM), and a Ph.D. in Ethics & Practical Theology from the University of Edinburgh’s School of Divinity, where I received a 50% merit-based tuition scholarship. For 12 years I served as a youth, college, and small group pastor in the local church, and I still enjoy preaching whenever I have the opportunity. I currently serve as the Curriculum and Technology Specialist in the newly formed School of Religion at Hampton University, where I also design courses and teach philosophy, ethics, logic, and Christian ethics. In addition, I teach at Houston Christian University, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Hutchinson Community College. My academic interests include supererogation in philosophical and Christian ethics, Christian ethics more broadly, the writings of C.S. Lewis, spiritual formation, generative AI in education, and the history of ideas in Western philosophy and theology. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, writing, biking, camping, fly fishing, playing competitive tennis, and spending time with my wife, our three kids, and friends.
