This is an activity that allows students to practice applying the order of operations to simplify numeric expressions. All expressions have terms that are whole numbers and may contain parentheses, multiplication, division, addition, and/or subtraction.

It encourages students to think through and answer questions about each step involved in the process of adding two integers: Are the signs of the integers the same or opposite?
