Experience

Hi! I’m a classroom teacher with over 15 years of experience in elementary education. I’ve spent most of my career teaching upper elementary, with a strong focus on math and science. Throughout my time in the classroom, I’ve worked closely with students at all levels and have a deep understanding of the skills they need to succeed—especially when it comes to building strong math foundations. I’ve also supported fellow teachers through collaboration, lesson planning, and sharing effective strategies for teaching challenging concepts. My goal is to create resources that reflect real classroom needs—materials that are practical, straightforward, and effective for both teachers and students. Thanks for being here!

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, consistency, and meeting students where they are. I believe that all students can succeed when they are given structured support, clear expectations, and opportunities to practice skills in meaningful ways. In my classroom, I focus heavily on building strong foundational skills—especially in math—through repetition, fluency practice, and targeted instruction. I use data to guide my teaching, identify gaps, and provide support through small groups and differentiated activities. I value routines and simple systems that help students feel confident and independent. At the same time, I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow. Above all, my goal is to make learning approachable and effective, helping students build both skills and confidence over time.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my teaching career, some of the most meaningful moments haven’t been formal awards, but the growth I’ve seen in my students and the impact I’ve been able to make in the classroom. I’ve had the opportunity to: Support students in building confidence in math, especially those who began the year feeling unsure of their abilities Help students make measurable growth through targeted instruction and consistent practice Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instruction and share effective strategies Mentor and support new teachers in planning, pacing, and delivering strong lessons One of my proudest accomplishments is seeing students develop both the skills and the confidence they need to succeed—especially when they realize they are capable of more than they thought. While recognition is always appreciated, the moments that stand out most are when students have that “I get it!” breakthrough and begin to see themselves as successful learners.

My own education history

I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching and bring over 15 years of experience in elementary education, primarily in upper elementary math and science. I am certified in multiple states and have taught in diverse school environments, giving me a broad perspective on student needs and instructional approaches. Beyond the classroom, I have served in leadership and mentoring roles, supporting new teachers with lesson design, pacing, and effective instructional strategies. I have also worked in assessment scoring, deepening my understanding of academic standards, rigor, and student performance expectations. This combination of classroom experience, leadership, and assessment expertise directly informs the resources I create—ensuring they are both practical and aligned with real student needs.

Additional biographical information

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy exploring creative projects and finding new ways to stay inspired. I believe that creativity plays an important role in both teaching and learning, and I often bring that mindset into the resources I design. I am passionate about continuous learning and am always looking for ways to grow—whether through researching new strategies, refining my instruction, or creating materials that better support students and teachers. I also value balance and simplicity, both in life and in the classroom. This perspective influences my approach to teaching and resource creation, focusing on what is effective, practical, and meaningful.
