For some reason, making a Box and Whisker Plot is hard for my students. I narrowed all Box and Whisker Plots down into 4 categories based on how many numbers in a data set. This is updated with the most current types of questions on the 7th grade TCAPs. This lesson is more than just clicking answers off the powerpoint. I have made countless animations that make the word problems come alive for students. What I do is, erase all answers and make a notes packet for my students. You can trust that this is a class approved lesson.

This lesson is designed to have the students in cooperative groups and answer state standard style questions. I loved walking around and seeing the kids actively working together and arguing their answers. I tried to do this in one day, but it would have been better as a two day lesson. I would use this at the end of a solving multi step and variables on both sides unit and writing and solving inequalities unit. This would be a great chance for another review.
