Box and Whisker Plots

For some reason, making a Box and Whisker Plot is hard for my students. I narrowed all Box and Whisker Plots down into 4 categories based on how many numbers in a data set. This foldable was a big hit in my classroom. When you buy the product, I have added photos on how to assemble the foldables. In a short class period, I go ahead and put them together. Once completed, you add three staples and you are good to go. If you want a quality product that you can't print and use all in the same

Setting Up more Complex Equations from word problems

This is updated with the most current types of questions on the 7th grade TCAPs. This lesson is more than just clicking answers off the powerpoint. I have made countless animations that make the word problems come alive for students. What I do is, erase all answers and make a notes packet for my students. You can trust that this is a class approved lesson.

Equivalent Expressions and Solving 2 step Station Activity

This lesson is designed to have the students in cooperative groups and answer state standard style questions. I loved walking around and seeing the kids actively working together and arguing their answers. I tried to do this in one day, but it would have been better as a two day lesson. I would use this at the end of a solving multi step and variables on both sides unit and writing and solving inequalities unit. This would be a great chance for another review. I also added answer key.

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching math for 10 years. Throughout those 10 years, I have taught 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, and Algebra 1. 8th grade and Algebra 1 are my specialties. I love teaching math and have maintained great test scores.

Teaching style

I would say that I truly care if students enjoy my class. I do group work, partner work, peer tutoring, online activities, foldables, and plenty of dry erase practice. My lessons are mostly powerpoints that I have worked on and perfected over the years. My lessons are designed to be user friendly and kids love my class.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I'm more of a "behind the scenes type person." I don't need awards to prove that I am a good teacher. I would rather share every lesson I have and no recognition.

My own education history

I am an Honors Graduate of Emory and Henry College, in Emory, Virginia.

Additional biographical information

I've always wanted to be a math teacher. I had a ninth grade math teacher that changed my life and made me care about school. Since 9th grade, I wanted to provide students with the same experience I had with a great teacher.
