About the store
For over 15 years, I’ve had the joy of teaching STEAM to students from 1st through 8th grade, in a variety of settings, as an elective, specials, studio, and general education class. Currently, I teach a class that integrates Project Lead the Way (PLTW) alongside a variety of other STEAM resources, such as EdPuzzle, Code.org, Khan Academy, etc. I have found that students who are busy working on meaningful and varied activities are the most engaged making progress academically and encouraging others to do the same. In previous non-STEAM related roles, I’ve taught general education, science, 4th, and 5th grade, and technology in Florida, New Orleans, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Working with hundreds of students each semester has taught me the importance of creating lessons that are engaging, low-prep, and flexible for all learners, which is exactly what I strive to share through my resources on TPT. From emergency sub-plans, to mini-units, I have created and adapted often to the interests and skill levels of my students. Adding materials to this store is still new to me, but I'm excited to share some resources that have helped me throughout the years.

Teaching style

My teaching style centers on relationships, engagement, and social-emotional learning. I believe that when students feel connected, valued, and safe, authentic learning happens and students are able to try new concepts that would otherwise have been out of reach. In my classroom, students stay busy, self-advocacy is encouraged, problems are solved, and goals are our focus. We go through coding, designing, collaborating, and reflecting - in mini-units and in long-term units. I plan intentionally so that learners stay active, curious, and collaborative in meaningful ways, building confidence through problem-solving and grit. As a STEAM teacher, a lot of my curriculum is focused on digital tools and integrating those tools into a variety of projects or activities.
