Albert Einstein once said that "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." I believe that my students may not ever have to identify the minerals in an igneous rock again, but I know they will have plenty of life problems to solve, That's why I created and proudly display this poster in my room.
The poster measures 8.5" X 44" and can be printed on 4 regular sheets of paper. I laminated mine before putting it across the top of my bulletin board.
Enjoy
This one kills at the geology conferences! This a funny 11" X 17" poster to place on your door for students to see as they leave your classroom. Of course, they won't get it until after to teach them that gneiss is the name of a metamorphic rock. You might notice that the word "gneiss" has been filled in with banding texture, as is common with gneiss rocks. Anyway, just a bit of silly decor for your room.
This is a great project to give your middle school students as you are teaching about Classification of Organisms. It asks your students to choose and research an animal from a given list and prepare a colorful poster and a short presentation. Focus questions are included to help guide the students' research. A student rubric is also included.
