Instead of collecting a bunch of papers, just so I can hand them back the next day, I have students grade their homework in class and record their scores on a homework log. Homework logs are distributed at the beginning of every chapter and are collected on the day of our chapter test. Then I only enter one homework score at the end of each unit.
