Print double-sided and then cut. Students grab a ticket when they enter the classroom and give it to you when class is over. Entry task ensures that students begin working as soon as they enter the room (I usually select a problem from the previous day's lesson). The exit task should be something from the current days lesson, to ensure that students understood the lesson.
Keeping track of homework can be messy. Instead of collecting a bunch of papers, just so I can hand them back the next day, I have students grade their homework in class and record their scores on a homework log. Homework logs are distributed at the beginning of every chapter and are collected on the day of our chapter test. Then I only enter one homework score at the end of each unit.
