In this interdisciplinary math project, students will consider the ethical implications of keeping animals in captivity. Students will use research skills, geometry skills, design skills, CER writing, and critical thinking to defend a claim about animals in captivity. This open-ended project allows students to reflect on and refine their own opinions while applying area/volume formulas, science connections about the needs of living animals, and CER writing.
