This is a great experiment/activity in which see a visual aspect of real life quadratic equations. Students love to launch rockets and watch what happens. Once completed and discussed there is a worksheet to follow which they learn terminology such as vertex, the axis of symmetry, and maximum while using their TI-calculator.
I give this to my students when I am teaching them how to use a graphing calculator. TI put this in their notebook and they are able to look at it as a reference.
