Ask the students to travel Around the Classroom in 24 Questions. That old worksheet needs a break. Have the students move around the classroom, joyfully looking for direct objects.
This activity allows the students to search confidently for answers. The sheets and secret phrase make it quick and easy to assess the students.
I've uploaded a generic Around the Classroom in 24 Questions that you can use with any subject.
Initially, I designed this lesson for adding/multiplying decimal numbers, and it's fine for that; however, I've started using it toward the end of the year as a lesson on basic spreadsheet formulas. As an end-of-the-year project, it allows the students to complete Internet research, which they enjoy, and to create an online slideshow project, which they also enjoy.
