About the store
Throughout my teaching career, I have had the pleasure of teaching math to students in grades 3 through undergraduate and teaching education courses to undergraduate and graduate students. I have been grade-level and department chair, mentored beginning teachers, facilitated professional development, coordinated teacher education programs, and been a faculty advisor to many student activity groups. I aim to be as involved in the teaching community as possible. My favorite thing about teaching, and why I'm here on TpT, is curriculum. I love designing units, to include performance assessments, that engage my students and advance their conceptual understanding of math while challenging them to reach their greatest potential.

Teaching style

My teaching style is very straight forward. There is no "fluff" and the students are very appreciative and successful as a result. Every class period starts with a Do Now, which may double as an investigation into a topic or as a differentiated review from the previous concepts (typically based on exit ticket data). We then have some student-led direct instruction to learn more about a concept before moving into student work. Student work can be in multiple forms: independent practice, partner practice, differentiated group work, stations, white boards, gallery walk, games, etc. Each lesson ends with an Exit Ticket that gauges where students are at. We have quizzes every couple of lessons and a test and performance assessment to culminate every unit. Students have found the "varied, yet predictable" approach very helpful and has led to an increase in AP enrollment (and success) by over 300% in the last two years.
