This resource is great for World History and Art History classes. Two part assignment: 1. Jigsaw Students will complete a Jigsaw Activity where they will research ONE of the four Ninja Turtles... I mean... Renaissance artists. And then, they will share their discoveries as a group. 2. Extension Activity Students will research a piece of artwork that was done by another artist (not the one they researched) and answer some questions about media, technique, imagery, etc.
As a catholic school educator for 8+ years, I have always strived to create content to enrich my students in their faith. And I also know how hard it is to find fun religious activities for my students on TPT. I actually created this resource for my mom, who is a religion teacher and thought it might be useful for others. How can you use it? The idea behind this resource was to create a "Saint of the Week" wall in my mom's classroom. Each week, if students finished early with their regular assi
At the culmination of the 5th grade year, I like to do something fun with my social studies class. And they have a BLAST! Each student gets to pick a person or persons (they can be in a group of two) from American history to conduct research on and ultimately portray in our class’s Living History Museum. In years past, I had the students act it out in front of the class. But last year, due to Covid, I created a virtual video project in Google Slides. And I look forward to sharing it with you. Th

This Google Slides presentation is meant to help educators, ideally in middle school and high school, to teach their students the many features of Google Classroom. I created this resource with actual screenshots and videos that show students interactively and step-by-step how to utilize the many features of Google Classroom. This resource teaches students the capabilities of the Google Classroom "stream", "classwork", and "people" tabs and also walks them through completing, handing in, and vi

This PowerPoint was used as a mini-lesson on the War of the Roses. It's a very complex war. I have included an optional video link and the family tree link that I used to help me research the war. Please note: This PowerPoint is organized in a way where it should follow a lesson on the 100 Years War. I also gave my students a copy of the family tree (Plantagenets -- Lancaster -- York).
How can you use it?The idea behind this resource was to create a "Icon of the Week" wall in my classroom. Each week, if students finished early with their regular assignments, they could work on this activity. I made it a weekly homework assignment. So, if students didn't have a chance to work on it in class, they could work on it at home. Each week, the class would have a different historic icon. And students would have the option of picking between 4 activities, all related to the letters of t
Dear Potential Costumer, Thank you for stopping by my shop! I really hope you like this activity. And if you do choose to buy it, please rate me, leave me a comment, and tell your colleagues about my shop. Your feedback is always helpful. I made this activity for my 9th grade world history class so they could learn about the monarchs of the middle ages and have some fun with it. I got the idea while listening to the soundtrack for SIX, which is an amazing musical about Henry VIII's six wives.
There are so many ways to use this resource!!! I usually assign each student a queen. They research the queen and write an essay. Then, they are put into a groups of 3 (with 2 people who had different queens), to teach them. That way, all students learn about all three queens. This can even be done in more of a jig-saw manner where the people with the same queen, all meet, before writing their essays. Items Included: 1. Student Notes Paper (Word Doc) 2. Student Essay Paper (Word Doc) 3. Rubric/

This resource is meant to help teachers gain a basic understanding of Google Classroom, all of its features, etc. I strongly recommend purchasing my bundle. It allows you to see the teacher and student side of Google Classroom. And the student presentation is more in depth, with videos and screenshots, which can be very helpful for a teacher to understand this technology.
This activity could be used as a follow-up activity, after teaching about Henry VIII and the six wives, or as a project-based learning activity to encourage students to explore and research on their own. I have used it both ways. In this activity, students will conduct research on one of Henry VIII's wives and have to write a poem/rap/song that tells their story. Since most history is told by men, and these wives are often only known for their "end", I wanted to encourage students to learn more
In this activity, students will watch a video about 19th century artwork and answer questions. The video is provided in the document; it's a Youtube link.
Mulan Video AnalysisI use this to introduce roles/expectations of males and females in Chinese culture, as well as, the importance of ancestors to the ancient Chinese. However, this could also be used to reinforce information that was previously covered. A great extension activity would be for students to research the Confucius relationships and do analyze how they coincide with the material from the movie. PDF and Word Document included in folder.
This is test corrections worksheet for students. However, instead of just asking the students to correct their mistakes, I ask students to dig a little deeper in order to earn points back. Students will need to explain how they know this new answer is correct (siting page numbers, similar math problems and the work, etc.) and make a plan for how they will improve on future tests.
Dearest Millennials (and any other teachers who love tv shows from 90s-now), There are 20 different tv-show themed agenda slides in this resource!!! I had so much fun making them and I hope you enjoy using them! Each slide's font, background, images/gifs are specific to a TV show that I grew up watching. And... some of them even have audio! I will be periodically updating this resource as I add more to it, so be on the lookout. Please also send me a message if you would like to see a show incl
Each week in my World History class, we focus our Friday lesson on a female in history. Since most history books focus on the accomplishments of men, I try to find interesting women in history to introduce students to on Fridays. Usually, my assignments cover Ancient and Medieval Women. But in honor of Queen Elizabeth II's death, I decided to remember her on this Friday.

Teaching style
I like to integrate technology into my classroom as much as possible. I enjoy allowing for my students to not only study, but "live" history. And I'm hoping that my teacher store also reflects this.
