This resource can be used to teach the following letter sounds so that students can encode the words. I invite students to tell me the picture on the cards, encode the sounds by breaking each word down to individual sounds and then writing the sounds down in their books. As a challenge for younger learners, I invite them to pick two words and string them into a sentence. Depending on the readiness of the learners, they can either share it verbally or write it down.

This resource is a great tool for reinforcing single sounds and blending. Students will look at the pictures below the word search to encode the word, write down the sounds they hear, and look for the words in the grid. This resource also helps reinforce the relationship between lowercase and uppercase letters

This resource is based on the research on the Science of Reading. Students should be taught the following letter sounds to be able to decode the sentences, practice handwriting skills through rewriting the sentence, and demonstrate their comprehension through drawing. This is a great tool for reinforcing letter-sound knowledge, blending sounds to form words, handwriting skills, and comprehension skills especially for young learners.
