Covers a great deal of Ancient Greece, particularly how they influenced future societies.There are many video clips hyperlinked, learning activities, and assignments with answer keys and rubrics for all.
This unit focuses on Canada's major geographic regions while developing Curricular Competencies of Evidence and Inquiry. There are several items and phases, but they build off of each other. A test in the middle serves as a content to context launching point. Students should exit with an understanding of how people live in parts of Canada as well as a personalized list of which regions might be best for them down the road.
Novel study of Iqbal. Includes several activities designed to have students develop a meaningful connection with child labor in today's world. Assignments include a webquest, photo essay, and wordle.

This sections works well if students have already done my WWII overview. However, it works well without too. Learners will choose 1 Canadian home front event and 1 Canadian war event to inquire about and document on their graphic organizers. The slides have a very brief introduction to Canada entering WWII as well as a small section regarding the Holocaust and atomic bombing.
This project-based section develops inquiry, evidence, and potentially several other competencies (depending on how students choose to pursue the task). Part 1 involves thinking and identifying what makes a hero. Some sample profiles and projects are included and require student evaluation. This project is designed to provide students with a timeline-type context of WWII. I use it with Canadian Social Studies students prior to launching into a Canadian focus of the event.
