Morning work with no prep that goes along with Math Expressions Unit 1, Grade 3: Multiplication. In these 18 handouts, students are given a spiral review of prior skills paired with content from lessons. There are even extension problems at the bottom to promote students to think mathematically, engage in productive problem solving, and use multiplication. Some of the days are even themed, from pizza, reading, and farm.

In this packet you will receive practice for nonliteral language on idioms, hyperboles, and similes. There is a bonus page that integrates all three for students to identify what they are and then describe the meanings of the phrases. Each mini story has 2 characters in an interview for students to read aloud and pick a role to be as they practice fluency skills with one another. In addition, there is teacher keys to ensure that educators, parents, etc are able to see what each phrase means.

Use iconic singers from Katy Perry, and Morgan Wallen to help students play a fun alternative game of "4 corners" as they read a phrase from a famous singer. Once they read it fluency they can vote or move their bodies to a corner of the room designated for the singer. If they are correct they stay in the game, and if they are incorrect they can sit and still participate in reading.
