This is a great project for students to work on over the holiday season. Santa is giving each student $500.00 to go shopping for 4 special people. This can be done in class or at home project. Works on problem solving, addition, subtraction, sorting and writing.
Starting AR in my classroom was difficult for students to understand at first because they didn't comprehend what the point system was. I decided to create an AR Marathon to help them see their progress and WOW did it help!! MY STUDENTS have books in their hand now almost ALL the time. It also helps some who are having trouble getting motivated to start because they see the class sprinting ahead and they are still at the starting line.
I took a picture of each one of my students in a running
This is a great resource for parents to understand how your classroom runs. I usually hand this out during meet the teacher night or when a new student enters the classroom. I have put a statement about how the classroom runs for each letter of the alphabet. Parents love this because it gives so much information in a fun way.
When students are reading have them use this worksheet to help generate a letter or remember what they read. I use this with Literacy Collaborative and the students enjoy using it.
