This is my 16th year teaching. I teach in a low income Title 1 school and normally have between 18-28 kids. I teach all subject areas.

Structured environment with little down time, students are actively engaged and busy most of the day and have some assignments that need to be finished within a set limit while they also have to learn to set limits and focus on work that is due weekly. Ability based grouping and differentiated instruction takes up most of my small group stations while I also teach whole group math and reading for common core based standards.

I have been named Teacher of the Year in my district for three separate awards and am Nationally Board certified as a Middle Childhood Generalist for grades 2-6. I have been named to the Who's Who Among American teachers 3 times and have been a mentor to new teachers now four times and a cooperating teacher for a student teacher three times.

I have both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Elementary Education and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

I am married and live with my husband, daughter, and all of our pets!
