A biography of Henry Ford with both reading comprehension questions, but also math comprehension questions. Works on skills such as finding ages based on years, subtraction, multiplication, context clues, and locating details in a passage. Based on Math TEKS 3.4A, 3.4F, 3.4K, and ELAR TEKS 3.13B, 3.2B, 3.2C, 3.3, 3.4A, 3.4B.

After teaching the 2D shapes, 3D solids, and attributes of each, I wanted to give my students an opportunity to work with the information. Including strip diagrams, number lines, decomposing numbers, and standard algorithm each day can be very time-consuming and even a little boring. This is a center activity for students to practice their representations in a more randomized and fun way. A great activity for math centers for review of place value. Students will work with partners and will use place value dice, cards, or number cubes to compose a number. They will then draw a place value card to find out which place is being compared. The cards show place value in word form, number form, and with base-10 relationships. I am a math teacher who is also responsible for teaching a Literacy Enrichment class, so I am always looking for ways to combine the two. I used this as a center activity while I worked with a small group. Covers identifying nouns and verbs as well as creating fractions.
