A Think Tac Toe is an easy way to give students a choice of activities and assessments. It can be used with any grade level and all subject areas. Students choose three activities from the board in a tic tac toe style. This gives students a choice and it gives the teacher control over the assignments that the students complete to make sure they address all of the standards. Using the book Beautiful OOPs by Barney Saltzberg, students will create a symmetrical paint splotch project and write about the oops they created. This is also a lesson in Symmetry.

Students use Problem Solving man to break down math word problems to help understand what is being asked in the question. This helps to have a better understanding of what to look for in a question.

Students will use a given number to work on Common Core math skills to increase their knowledge of number sense. There are 40 pages of numbers with a sample for the students to do. I use them with the students on a weekly basis to increase their number fluency while working on Common Core math Skills.

Students will practice their multiplication facts during the thanksgiving season by filling in the facts for one factor.

Children will use place value knowledge to write large numbers in different ways.
