Novel Study Project Timeline Project
This project encourages students to decide what events, symbols and quotes are significant in the novel they have completed. It is an excellent project to use when students are able to read multiple novels and you would like to have a common assignment. Students create a timeline in any format they would like showing their understanding of the novel as a whole. Experience
I have been teaching for 8 years in the middle/junior high school level. I have primarily taught English Language Arts but I have also taught social studies.
Teaching style
I like students to be able to push themselves, create challenges and feel good about the work they are doing. Although I do use themed units for novel studies, I like to do a poetry and short story unit that is structured and has students completing similar assignments. I like to give students choice so that they will own their own learning and try to exceed their expectations.
My own education history
I have a degree in English with a minor in business and Asian Studies as well as a teaching degree.
