Experience

I have been teaching a variety of history, civics, and science classes for more than 10 years. I have extensive special needs experience and training as well as experience with second language learners. I have C3 and standards based learning experience. I have been both an international teacher using American curriculum, and a Canadian teacher.

Teaching style

In class, I focus on critical thinking including a lot of discussion as well as inquiry and project-based learning opportunities. Due to my special needs training I really focus on meeting the needs of all of my students through differentiation as well as allowing for student voice and choice!

I lived in Kuwait for a total of 8 years in 2 stints, working at 2 different international schools during that time. I now live at home and am a wife, aunt, and teacher focusing on developing a healthy work-life balance while having the life I want.
